Badminton social sessions operate throughout the year across a number of the islands in local community halls.

WIBA Senior Squad

The Western Isles has a county team that trains throughout the year and regularly take part in challenge matches each year both home and away.

WIIGA Squad

The Western Isles Island Games Association takes part in the biennial International Games, which usually includes badminton. This is elite level sport and specific eligibility, and qualification requirements are set for this for players wanting to take part.

Junior Badminton

Structured Junior sessions take place in Stornoway and Barra and where possible aspiring and dedicated juniors are supported to develop within their sport both home and away.

Tournaments

A variety of adult and Junior competitions take place across the Islands each year. The major ones being the WI Restricted in September, the WI Open in January, The Harris Masters in December and the WI Junior in February.

Coaching

Regular coaching takes place for juniors across the islands and WIBA adult members benefit from having access to coaching opportunities each year.
